EA WG Food Working Group Convened in Ankara

The EA Food Working Group (WG Food) meeting was held in Ankara on 3–4 June 2025 under the hosting of TURKAK. The meeting brought together experts from EA member national accreditation bodies, owners of international certification schemes opperating in the food sector, and relevant stakeholders.

During the meeting, technical topics such as organic regulations, organic cosmetic products, ASI programs, and PDO/PGI (Protected Designation of Origin / Protected Geographical Indication) were discussed, and a workshop was held on the ISO 22003-1 standard. In addition, a presentation was delivered on the legal framework and practices related to food safety in Türkiye.

Accreditation enhances the reliability of food testing, certification, and inspection systems. It builds confidence among consumers, regulators, and businesses that food safety requirements are met consistently and transparently.

Through harmonized standards, international recognition, and continual improvement enabled by accreditation, we go beyond merely assessing compliance — we contribute to the protection of public health
